Fascinating Information Regarding Elves

0

When you think of mythical creatures, you often think of elves. Quite different from the feelings that ogres and trolls evoke, elves are looked at as some friendly and hearty mythical creatures. Even during Christmas, you will see elves surrounding Santa Claus as part of the process of manufacturing gifts and toys. The following are some interesting things that you can learn about Elves.

1) Both the Elves and the Trolls can credit their origin to Norse Mythology. Initially, Elves were thought to be some magical beings with powers to boot. They then went into two groups, the good elves and the bad and evil elves. The Elves are mentioned a lot in the mythologies of other countries like Germany and Iceland.

2) Up to recently, they will be associated more with folk stories and have a baby-face look, characterized with no facial hair at all. They mostly live in the wild, under rocks, hills and around wells.

A quick look at the elves and you will get the impression that they are not creatures that grow old. They will often have childlike mischief and are playful.

3) In USA, the Elves are mostly associated with Santa Claus, meaning they feature a lot around Christmas as Santa’s helpers in making toys. They crush at the North Pole and often wear red and green clothing.

Just to describe their faces, they are pointed noses, long ears and clad in hats. Most movies about Christmas have the Elves alongside Santa.

4) Other Fantasy Elves that you may know of are in those like The Hobbit and the movie, Lord of the Rings. The role-playing game that features the well is Dungeons and Dragons. They are smart and picturesque creatures but physically weak.

5) Christmas Elves do not look so much like Elves. Most of them have very little obvious telling signs that they are elves. The only ones that even a politician would have a hard time defending are Elven and Elfin of the Keebler Cookies fame.
